Tranquil Retreat for Your Ise Pilgrimage:Your Home Away from Home
Nestled in a quiet corner just a short distance from the main road, a 15-minute walk from Kintetsu/JR Ise-shi Station. From our house, it’s a 9-minute walk to Geku of Ise Jingu (Shinto Shrine), and a 10-minute or 15-minute bus ride from the bus stop in front of Geku to Naiku of Ise Jingu. Just beyond “Ito,” the road to the Geku of Ise Jingu was bustling with pilgrims during the Edo period. People flocked from all over Japan. An old shop selling stomach medicine “Mankintan” still exists along the main road. Explore the historical “Seko”. “Seko” is a local dialect in Ise, that means “alley”. Some alleys even have names. Entering Seko, you’ll find a residence of a travel guide called “Onishi.” in the Edo Period.
Enjoy gourmet experiences. In addition to the famous Ise udon, noodle shops, there are a variety of restaurants, cafes, and shops. There’s even a popular Gyoza, dumpling shop with long lines. You’ll also find sweets shops and an organic food shop. Buy fresh fish and vegetables in the local supermarkets and shops, and then cook in our small kitchen.
From our home, embark on an Ise pilgrimage, explore the Ise-Shima National Park (Ise, Toba, Shima), and stay at our house as a base for the Kumano Kodo, World Heritage.
Please feel at our home.

Tokan-ji Temple
Located near the Outer Shrine of Ise Grand Shrine, this temple belongs to the Soto Zen sect's Sōji-ji school, believed to have been founded in the first year of Ōei (1394). It was reconstructed in the second year of Meiwa (1765), reaching its current scale, and has survived the anti-Buddhist movements of the early Meiji era to the present day. It houses prefecturally designated tangible cultural properties such as the "Shikisanzu Byōbu" (Four Seasons Landscape Folding Screen) attributed to Hasegawa Tōhaku and "Unban" (Cloud Board).
